what are the requirements to become a piercer?
You must be over the age of 18
You are required to have your BBP (Blood Borne Pathogens) certificate up to date and valid in your state and county you will be working in. You will send a picture of your certificate to Rin before the first day of class.
Each state and county is different with what they require. Please make sure you call your local health department before signing up for the training because that is who regulates Piercing Artists. Most states will require you to have a Body Art Permit. It is very important and crucial to follow the regulations of your state and county. During the course Rin will go over SLC & UT County regulations, but it is fully on you to abide by them. If you are outside of SLC or UT County, Rin will assist you with your regulations after you've done your own research first.
what is included in the training?
you will receive a student kit valued at $500 (items listed below)
piercing techniques for:
- lobes (firsts, seconds, thirds & constellation)
- midi/helix
- conch
- flat
- rook
- daith
- tragus
- forward helix
this course is broken up into 3 days, here's the breakdown-
DAY ONE- THEORY NIGHT 6-9pm
- receive kit
- go over anatomy, contraindications, sanitation, first aid & safety concerns, pre & post care, piercing bumps & rejections, etc.
- practice all piercing techniques on dummy ears
- go over SLC & UT County Health Department regulations
- how to get your new business started AND legal
DAY TWO- SHADOW DAY 10:20am-5:00pm
- you will shadow and assist Rin while she takes her own clients!
- go over proper sanitation
- hands on practice of preparing trays and jewelry for the clients
- hands on practice with changing her client's jewelry
- learn how to interact with clients
- lunch is provided by Rin
DAY THREE- MODEL DAY 3:45pm-7:45pm
- on the final day of class you will provide your own models (up to 7) and this time Rin will be assisting you! She will be there for each piercing that you preform so you feel comfortable and confident.
- your models will be paying YOU for their new piercings! you will charge $35 per piercing. each model can get up to 4 new piercings, which means you can make up to $1000 that first night of clients! No other courses let the models pay their students and this is a game changer for making your money back from your course!
- receive your certificate and Rin's personal phone number for any questions during your piercing career
